  • First, I would like to thank everyone who e-mailed me and IMed me with their support over the Kylie Rey flake situation.  As I posted on my discussion board, you can't win them all.   I will roll with it and move forward.  The funniest response I received in e-mail was from another producer.  Here is what he wrote:

    "welcome to the porn biz..."

Yesterday Kylie posted this on her Xanga about me:

"Me and him [Snowman] just had a small disagreement that's all. I wont' waste my time dwelling on that topic, just wanted to clear up any confusions. I like Snowman, as a person, but I just didnt' think we can work well, doing business together, if we can't even compromise. No one is at fault, it's just a disagreement."

I don't think that statement clears up "any confusions", nor do I like the implication that there is something wrong with the way I conduct business.  What you guys didn't know was that Kylie not only flaked out with regard to the booth appearance, she also backed out of doing a prearranged scene the following day without good cause.

Here are the real reasons why Kylie felt justified to back out of the scene AND booth:

    (1)  She was pissed off because she paid "too much" for a handful of dvds she was bringing to Adultcon.  In real terms, she couldn't potentially make an extra $2.33 profit per disc on 12 Red Light District discs ($27.96).  Not only is this a trival amount, there's more to the story.  She benefitted from using other people (me) making the deal on her behalf, other people driving her around porn valley to pick them up using their gas and time (Jag), and the one that takes the cake -- she was using other people's money (Jag's & my own) to buy the discs!  Kylie always claims she has no money of her own -- even for her own business expenses.  She was also angry because she and Jag paid Red Light District sales tax on the discs intended for resale - I told Kylie and Jag the *total* price of the discs beforehand, but they were too timid to say anything at the time of purchase.

She also sent me on a wild goose chase to investigate wholesale pricing of the discs at a variety of sources because she was unsure she could get "talent" copies at $5.00 pricing.  Even though these discs had nothing to do with me, I agreed to help her because she was stressing out big time over the situation as if she was handling the Cuban missile crisis.  I spent about two hours on this task and basically discovered the wholesale price (in large quanities) for most adult DVDs is generally around $8-13 each.  Kylie ridiculed these findings and never even thanked me for my efforts.

    (2)  Kylie insisted I pay her in cash for the scene -- not because she thought my check would bounce -- rather because she refuses to get a bank account anywhere.  Pretty unusual huh?  Especially for someone who wants to "do business."  Plus, she already agreed to accept a check.  After she griped about it for ten minutes, I offered her a BANK CHECK -- which would require me to waste at least 30 minutes driving to my credit union and standing in line -- but she refused to pay the $3.00 service charge for it.  She also could have gotten paid with PayPal instantly, but again, she moans she has no way to get the money out of PayPal, unlike the fifty million other people who use it.

I should mention Kylie was not paying for my AdultCon booth (it is valued at $400), and I contributed 1/2 of the cost of her 8x10 photos.  Plus I was going to give her and her boyfriend admission tickets - which cost me another $20 as an exhibitor but is worth $60 if she had to buy them herself.

Backing out a scene (or booth) for trival reasons is a not something responsible porn talent does.  Filming scenes takes a lot of planning and preparation.  Many other people are involved such as other talent (appearing in the scene), production helpers and make-up artists.  I had all this set up.  In this instance, I also already spent over $100 on wardrobe for Kylie - in her size!  Producers also may face "kill fees" when they have to pull the plug on a scene since people need to be able to plan their schedules in advance.

Up to now, this is a girl I have treated like gold.  As a friend, I have spent countless hours helping and supporting Kylie in sooooooo many ways.  I also treated her out many times and purchased things she needed.  I promoted her more than ANYONE on the entire Internet -- driving THOUSANDS of people to her site every month for over a year.   I know this for a fact because she would send me the traffic data.  I guess this is the thanks I get.

So, I hope this clears up "any confusions" about why Kylie is not signing at the Blue Syren Productions booth.

If you guys still feel like meeting her, she will be appearing at Annie Cruz's booth.  I'm sure she will bring along the precious DVDs so she can make a $15 profit on them (or in the case of the Red Light title only $12.57 (GASP!).  And whatever you do -- don't bring a CHECK!
